Grateful Today

I am so grateful today.

Not only is today a beautiful sunny, slightly rainy, day. But it’s also another day in Paradise. 🙂

As we were driving down the road, in the Tanner’s work truck today, I realized how blessed we are. Im not trying to boast or toot my own horn, but it made me really happy!

– Lately, (like I said in Winning YOUR Daily (private) Victory I have been listing 5 things I am grateful for every morning. Or every time I start to compare or feel down on myself (when I really don’t want to list things I’m grateful for), I will also list 5 things. It’s been helping me realize how much we REALLY do have to be grateful for.

It’s the simple things that make you realize it. Especially when your saying it OUT LOUD.

Things like: I have legs to walk, or hands to do mostly EVERYTHING, or that you have hair on your head, or eyes to see EVERYTHING, ears to hear, feet to walk on. A home to live in, a bed to sleep in, food to eat, transportation means, a free society where you can pick and choose more than you could ever imagine. These things already grant you more blessings than most the people in the WORLD.

Anyways… You should try it if your ever feel down. It’s worth a shot.

While we were driving down this scenic road I started to smile as all these blessings started to flood my mind at once. I was eating a Jack ‘n’ the Box – Breakfast Croissant (my fav).  I don’t know if it was just the fact that I was eating haha, the beautiful view or knowing it was Friday that made me so giddy. BUT I WAS HAPPY!

The moment I started to feel a bit down, I just thought of something I was looking forward to (I thought of going to a movie this weekend, it was that simple). It instantly made my mood change.

-I believe that if you fill your days with simple pleasures (like going to a movie, for me) that make you happy in life, you will always give yourself something to look forward to. It won’t make you happy always. You can’t depend on outside forces alone, to keep/make you happy. That is working from the outside-in, depending on external forces or others for your happiness. You have to work from the inside-out, to become truly happy. – That’s something I’ve been reading in my recent favorite book, “7 Habits of Highly Successful People” – Stephen R. Covey.

By counting your blessings, it helps you become happy from the inside-out. Which makes it easier for you, to find the simple pleasures in your life and create more of them.

I realized this world has so much more to offer than we realize. As long as we put ourselves out there and just freakin DO IT! We have to get off the couch and our phones and go live the life that’s waiting for us. Stop looking at what your missing out in everyone else’s life and create the life you would want to read about. If someone inspires you, question them, follow them and let them inspire you. Don’t beat yourself up over them because you don’t have the same life. Create a BETTER life! See the blessings in your life and if you can’t, then go make them. (Serving others helps a lot too.)

I was looking forward to the weekend. So happy that Tan gets his paycheck. 😉 (Can’t wait till I get started at my job – Next Monday!) Thinking about all the things we have to be grateful for. And it inspired me to share my thoughts…..

Which led to this rant-post. That is like a mix of a self help post- and – a personal short story of a couple hours haha.

I do have a TON of things I could be stressed about, and probably should be stressed about lol. But for now, my thoughts are focused on movie time, a little shopping, and da beach. 🙂

Till next time,

Have a wonderful weekend.
